Cyclones (cyclone separators) are primarily used in manufacturing for air pollution control and material recovery applications to help with product separation, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. They are often part of multi-stage filtration systems and integrated with other air pollution control systems - including baghouses, electrostatic precipitators, and scrubbers. Expansion joints are metallic, fabric, or rubber. They add flexibility and forgiveness to industrial equipment systems. Large systems involve many points of connection between ductwork and various pieces of equipment. While system engineers do their best to prevent design errors, perfect alignment is often not possible, as there are always varying degrees of movement involved with equipment operation.
